SAMUEL BURL KINISON

Sam  Kinison was born December 8, 1953, in Peoria, Illinois. His parents were traveling evangelists, so growing up Sam would travel all over with his parents while they would spread the word of god. Sam followed in his parent's footsteps and became a Tent Preacher, screaming the word of god to anyone who would listen.

After getting many compliments on his comedic style why screaming the gospel, Sam decided to test the waters of becoming a comedian and moved to Houston Texas and enrolled in a comedy workshop. He was a hit and also became the featured attraction. Word had gotten out that he was the one to go see so Rodney Dangerfield did just that. After see Sam perform in person he snatched him up right there on the spot for a role in his movie..."Back to School", where he played a high-strung professor. That role landed him his own tv show called Breaking the Rules. He then went on to guest star on several different late night shows including my favorite episode of Married With Children.

Sam Kinison just like so many other people in show business do found himself addicted to drugs and alcohol. Sam quit drinking and doing drugs about 2 years before died when he was killed by a 17-year-old who was drinking and driving and lost control and hit Sams car head on. Sam Kinison died April 10, 1992, in Needles, CA. Howard Stern has the same style of comedy but he's no SAM KINISON!
Rest in Peace Sam!
